Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA)

The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) comprises 8 courses of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and is ideally suited to busy managers seeking to increase their career skills in a shorter time frame.

The option to complete an MBA degree with six months further study makes the PGDBA an attractive option. Classes are run Saturdays and Sundays so business leaders can maximise their valuable time.

Programme Structure/Courses

Each student’s programme is planned in conjunction with the Academic Head of Programme to satisfy academic regulations and reflect the candidate’s background, interest and career aspirations.

Trimesters and scheduled breaks:
The MBA and PGDBA classes run every weekend from 28 January 2022 until 15 December 2023.

Entry Requirements

  1. IELTS 6.5 academic (with no band less than 6.0) / TOEFL iBT 79 (with a writing score of 21) / PToE academic score of 58 with no band lower than 50 / NZCEL L5;
    and
  2. (i) hold an undergraduate degree (at least equivalent to New Zealand pass standard) or a graduate diploma, bachelor honours degree, postgraduate diploma or postgraduate degree, awarded by a tertiary institution approved by the Academic Board; or
    (ii) possess a qualification awarded by a recognised tertiary or professional organisation as approved by the Academic Board as being of an appropriate standard either for direct entry, or for entry conditional upon satisfactory completion of a prescribed bridging programme of study; and
  3. (i) have completed a minimum of two years’ equivalent full-time relevant work experience as approved by the Academic Board; or
    (ii) hold an undergraduate degree (at least equivalent to New Zealand pass standard) or a graduate diploma, bachelor honours degree or postgraduate diploma in cognate discipline areas awarded by a tertiary institution approved by the Academic Board and include course BUAD920 Internship in their programme of studies; or
  4. gain approval under Admission Regulation 1.3: Special Admission
