Student Loans and Allowances.

New Zealand citizens and eligible permanent residents studying at AIS are able to apply for student loans and allowances.

There is a three-year standdown before permanent residents can access a student loan or allowance. Students are required to pass at least half of their previous study and have good attendance to retain access to loans and allowances.

To receive information and application forms, contact StudyLink on:

Freephone: 0800 88 99 00
Freefax: 0800 88 33 88
Websites: www.studylink.govt.nz

Please contact admissions@up.education for any assistance with completing applications, checking your eligibility, or in case of any delays. Student Loans applications can be checked by admissions@up.education prior to sending to StudyLink.

Please ensure your applications are sent to StudyLink well before the start date of your programme, and that loan contracts are signed and returned to StudyLink promptly. Payments of student allowances are only made from the date of approval if received after the programme start date. You must complete and return to StudyLink the Statement of Satisfaction Progress forms sent to you, or allowance payments will stop automatically. AIS must advise StudyLink if a student has poor attendance or withdraws from study.

You might be able to study Fees Free?

Check if you meet the criteria for the government's fees-free programme.
