Licence Controller Training (LCQ) (Level 4)
New Zealand law requires that any hospitality business selling alcohol on its premises has a qualified duty manager on-site at all times.
This short Licence Controller Qualification programme covers the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act (2012) and its implications for licensed premises, as well as the host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises. An LCQ is the approved prerequisite qualification for anyone applying for or renewing a Duty/General Manager’s Certificate.
The LCQ covers two unit standards:
- 4646 Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and its implications for licensed premises (Level 4, Credits 2); and
- 16705 Demonstrate knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises (Level 4, Credits 3).

IELTS 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 / TOEFL iBT 46 (with a writing score of 14) / TEP 48 or equivalent with no band less than 11; and
16 years and over
