就业辅导 (Industry)

何谓就业辅导中心？

 

就业辅导中心是专门为本校学生提供就业指导与帮助的特殊部门。它所带给学生的是有效的求职技能和相关的本地雇佣知识。专业而具经验的辅导员会帮助学生了解何处及如何做到学有所用。

 

 

为了更有效地发挥您的所学与所长，尽早设定一份人生职业计划是必不可免。通过自我解析、自我认识，选择正确学习方向，是一切的开始。

 

就业辅导中心会帮助您分析寻找更适合您个人发展的行业领域，并就此提出建议。安排介绍您到相关行业机构，协助您搭建您的成功之路。

 

如果您正面临着就业决择，或正在寻找兼职或全职工作机会，就业辅导中心会为您提供相关信息及实质意见。

 

您从中心所得到的辅导还包括:

学院的就业辅中心为本校各级在校生和毕业生提供广泛的咨询辅导服务。每一位奥克兰商学院的学生都将获得至少一次的此类服务。我们的辅导员会根据学生的不同情况，因人制宜，因材施教。

本地学生
纽西兰本地学生在此可以针对自己所希望申请的公司和职位，学习编写有效的履历及求职信，参加校内举办的就业研讨会。中心可以帮助学生寻找兼职或全职工作机会。

国际学生
对于每周可工作十五小时国际留学生，中心可以协助他们寻找实习工作机会。当他们完成两年或以上专业课程学习，毕业后便有机会申请全职工作。学生可以在这里学习如何编写一份适合纽西兰求职需要的履历表。求职信是赢得与雇主面试机会的关键所在。在中心辅导员的帮助下，学生将学习如何撰写一封有效的求职信。学生还可以参加学院内专为国际留学生所举办的纽西兰就业研讨会。

 

毕业生
毕业生可亲临就业辅导中寻求有关求职策略及计划的帮助。他们还可以在此学习编写不同形式与功能的履历表，以适应他们不同的择业取向。就业中心还会教授学生如何撰写求职信，拟建求职计划，及如何使用校友会资讯服务。

ELIZABETH WARNER
I joined AIS St Helens in January 2002 with a very strong tutoring background in the travel and tourism industry. I have a passion to see and help students grow and succeed in whatever they do, and to be a part of the motivation to help them. My focus in Industry Liaison is with the Travel and Tourism students. My primary role is assisting and advising students on job placements, the various career paths available to them with their skills and qualifications, CV preparation and preparing for job interviews. I also organise work experience for tourism students as a part of their study, industry days and graduate days.

ZURICKA AZAVEDO
Born: India
Working: TradeNZ (Internship)
Education: AIS St Helens, MBA

Zuricka approached Hinemoa Key for some advice about gaining New Zealand business experience and was told about the internships at TradeNZ.

"Hinemoa helped me gain the skills and confidence necessary to apply for an internship", Zuricka says.

She is now involved with the developing of a website at TradeNZ. "My experience with TradeNZ has been amazing. I really appreciate the opportunity at TradeNZ and the support Hinemoa has given me!"

AMBER O'BRIEN
Born: New Zealand
Working: English Language Teacher, Korea.
Educated: AIS St Helens, CertTEFL

After completing a Bachelor of Education (BEd) Amber looked at teaching positions abroad.

"I decided to enrol in the CertTEFL and learn the ins-and-outs of teaching English before I left New Zealand so I wouldn't be thrown in the deep end."

After the course Amber was offered a teaching position at an Elementary School in Korea almost immediately.

"Everything was organised for me before I arrived in Korea. The course really prepared me for my role and I even get a higher salary because of it."

NEIL FOXCROFT

Working: Cave Guide, Waitomo Adventures
Educated: AIS St Helens, Advanced Diploma in Travel and Tourism

Employed at Waitomo Caves, Neil takes thrill-seekers on a variety of adventures including abseiling and black water rafting Previously Neil had little in the way of caving experience. So if it wasn't his outdoors experience that landed him his job, what was it?
