Sport and Recreation
The Sports Department plays an important role in ensuring that students who study at AIS St Helens have every opportunity to balance their studies with regular exercise. Students are encouraged to utilise the excellent facilities provided with “Club Nights” as an extended opportunity to attend specific interest sports such as indoor soccer, table tennis, basket ball, boxing and badminton.
Sport and Fitness Centre - Asquith Campus
The Asquith Campus is just 5 minutes walk from the Main Campus and has a ‘state of the art’ sport and fitness facility with a fully professional fitness gymnasium and sports hall. There is no membership fee for students using the fitness gymnasium or sports hall
Fitness Gymnasium
The fitness gymnasium is open 45 hours per week from 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday (except public holidays). It is well equipped with a treadmill, crosstrainers, row machine, multi-purpose exercise machines and free-weights.
Please ensure, when using the gym, that you wear appropriate clothing and footwear for your own health and safety. Also remember to bring your water bottles and towels.
Sports Hall and Equipment
The sports hall is available to be used by all students and staff from 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday (except public holidays). Sport equipment is available for basket ball, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, indoor soccer, and indoor cricket. All students must have their student identification card when using the sports and fitness centre facilities and when borrowing equipment must leave their ID card with the gym staff. Staff do carry out regular checks for ID cards so please ensure you have it with you at all times.
There is no charge for the use of the sports equipment in the sports hall.
